The Sheena Bora murder case is a sensational and disturbing true crime story that has shaken India and the world. In 2012, 25-year-old Sheena Bora, an assistant manager at Mumbai Metro One, went missing. Her disappearance was followed by a series of events that revealed a complex web of relationships, deceit, and betrayal.


The Complex Relationships Behind the Murder

At the center of this case is Indrani Mukerjea, Sheena's mother, who was accused of murdering her daughter. Indrani, a former HR consultant, had a troubled past, with multiple marriages and a history of deceit. Her relationship with Sheena was complicated, with Indrani introducing Sheena as her sister to her second husband, Peter Mukerjea.


The Investigation and Arrests

The investigation into Sheena's disappearance led to the arrest of Indrani, her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, and her driver, Shyamvar Pinturam Rai. The police alleged that Indrani had planned and executed the murder, with the help of her accomplices.

The Trial and Its Progress

The trial has been ongoing since 2015, with many twists and turns. In 2022, the Bombay High Court granted Indrani bail after six years as an undertrial, citing the slow pace of the trial. Recently, in July 2024, the CBI told the court that Sheena's remains have been found.
